Marian Kleinman
Public School Teacher, Author,
Cantorial Soloist, Bar Mitzvah Tutor, Congregational Education Director
I've enjoyed more than a decade of teaching public school and college. As a school director and cantorial soloist, I've served Jewish congregations in NY, PA, CT, and NJ.
Having published two books, I hope to write and publish several more! (See "Book" tab.)
My inspiration as a Cantorial Soloist, Educator, and as a Jewish professional comes from my grandparents and parents, as well as from congregants, students, and fellow clergy.
Thanks for visiting my website!
Marian reads a chapter from her book. This chapter tells about Kristolnacht in Antwerp, Belgium.
Reading was at Beth Am Temple, Pearl River, NY, November, 2019.
"Marian's commitment to the Jewish People at large, and to Israel and the Reform Movement specifically was in part her own study and evolution and partly from the inspiration she received from her family. It's said that a Rabbi tells us what God, or the Jewish tradition requires of us, and the Cantor elevates our soul on the wings of musical prayer so that we can discover and communicate to Adonai that which we require.
That to which we aspire.
Marian Kleinman is this kind of Cantor. And, as she directs our children toward their Jewish future, she lifts us higher and even higher as we pray with her in song."
